The Line Cook position at Vic's River Grill is critical to upholding these standards and contributing to the kitchen's smooth and efficient operation. Reporting directly to the Sous Chef or Restaurant Manager, the Line Cook is responsible for cooking meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot food items while also preparing and portioning ingredients prior to cooking. This role requires a keen eye for detail as well as adherence to proper cooking techniques, food safety standards, and presentation guidelines. Beyond cooking, the Line Cook participates in final plate preparation, including plating, garnishing, and ensuring that portion sizes and quality standards are met consistently on every dish. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to work in a dynamic kitchen environment with modern cooking equipment ranging from grills and fryers to ovens and food processors.

Additionally, the role includes responsibilities such as assisting with kitchen closing duties, attending employee meetings, and contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
Supplemental duties for the Line Cook may include assisting in menu planning, record-keeping, coordinating kitchen staff activities, and butchering or trimming meats when required. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have valid food handler certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Availability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Good organizational and time management skills
