Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years culinary experience preferred
- Ability to adhere to food safety standards and regulations
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
- Capacity to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Commitment to teamwork and positive attitude
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation according to established procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years culinary experience preferred
- Ability to follow written, oral, and diagram instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well to residents, including those emotionally upset
- Ability to interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public
- Dependable with regular and prompt attendance
- Flexibility to work beyond normal hours when necessary
Job Duties
- Perform basic culinary tasks including food preparation of hot and cold food items
- Cook and cool food items while adhering to established food safety requirements
- Review menu cycles, follow recipes, and test product by taste, temperature, portion control, and plate appeal
- Properly receive and store departmental supplies
- Follow and document proper food safety guidelines including heating, reheating, FIFO, cooling, and storage logs
- Complete production, prep, and pull logs along with daily and weekly mis-en-place
- Comply with all departmental policies and procedures including HACCP, safety regulations, and CARF/CCAC guidelines
- Provide efficient, professional, and responsive service to all customers including waiting on tables and processing customer requests
- Operate dishwashing machines and maintain cleanliness by sanitizing work areas and following sanitation procedures
- Work collaboratively within a team while maintaining positive and respectful interactions
- Promote resident rights and independence in all assigned tasks
