The LifeLine Paramedic Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) role is a critical position within Indiana University Health, located in Indianapolis, IN. This role involves a set schedule of three 12-hour shifts, designed to promote work-life balance and operational efficiency. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Indiana EMT-P Paramedic license
- basic life support certification upon hire
- advanced cardiac life support certification upon hire
- pediatric advanced life support or equivalent within probationary period
- emergency vehicle operator course or equivalent within probationary period
- NIMS courses 100, 200, 700, 800 within probationary period
- minimum 1 year ALS Paramedic experience preferred
- clinical decision-making skills in challenging environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- valid Indiana EMT-P Paramedic license
- basic life support (BLS) certification required upon hire
- advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification required upon hire
- pediatric advanced life support (PALS) or equivalent to be obtained within initial probationary period
- emergency vehicle operator course (EVOC) or equivalent to be obtained within initial probationary period
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 courses to be obtained within initial probationary period
- minimum of 1 year ALS Paramedic experience preferred
- ability to make independent, clinical and operational competent decisions in a challenging environment
Job Duties
- Provide care, transport, and treatment of ill or injured patients in emergency and non-emergency situations
- relay and receive information regarding patient and patient condition
- comply with all regulatory requirements, departmental policy, safety policies, and hospital policies
- operate within the scope of a Paramedic as defined by the state of Indiana
- care for and manage neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult, and elderly patients
- drive ambulance to and from referral hospital as required
- transport patients as needed
- obtain consents and authorizations from patients or legal guardians
- record time of ambulance run
- process billing and daily reports
