Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in recreation therapy, creative arts, and/or human services related field
  • bachelor's degree preferred
  • minimum of three years' experience working with older adults
  • current or eligible for certification in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or Activity Director
  • dementia engagement certification or willing to obtain within 90 days
  • current or eligible for certification in CPR

Job Duties

  • Plan and implement programs and events providing residents an Acts Signature Experience
  • incorporate wellness, person-centered living, and hospitality into ASE events
  • ensure residents of differing cognitive and functional levels have opportunities for meaningful engagement
  • develop programs based on Montessori principles of resident empowerment and engagement
  • tailor activities to residents' personal histories and preferences
  • collaborate with staff to support resident participation
  • maintain records and documentation related to activities and resident engagement
