Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in recreation therapy creative arts or human services related field
  • Minimum of three years experience working with older adults
  • Current or eligible for certification in Therapeutic Recreation Music Therapy Art Therapy or Activity Director
  • Dementia engagement certification or willing to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • Current or eligible for certification in CPR

Job Duties

  • Plan and implement programs and events that provide residents with an Acts Signature Experience
  • Incorporate wellness, person-centered living, and hospitality into activities
  • Ensure meaningful engagement opportunities for residents of varying cognitive and functional levels
  • Design programs based on Montessori principles reflecting residents personal history and preferences
  • Collaborate with healthcare and social service teams to enhance resident involvement
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of activities and resident participation
  • Promote social, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of residents
