The Community Life Assistant role at Christian Living Communities | Cappella Living Solutions is a dynamic position tailored to the needs of Independent Living residents. This role supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of life enrichment programs that are designed to meet individual interests and needs. Working in a fast-paced environment, the Community Life Assistant will engage residents through group and one-on-one activities that promote creative, physical, spiritual, social, and mental wellness. They play a vital role in fostering engagement and creating connection within the community.

Typical work hours for this full-time position are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend shifts that may include driving excursions. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage a variety of responsibilities ranging from administrative duties to assisting with special events and community engagement activities. The assistant will build positive relationships with residents, vendors, entertainers, volunteers, and other team members, thereby supporting a collaborative and thriving community environment.

Key responsibilities also include managing supplies and equipment, assisting in creating and distributing the monthly enrichment calendar, and handling scheduling and clerical tasks efficiently. There is a notable emphasis on transportation, as the assistant will drive the community bus for scenic rides, group outings, and excursions into the surrounding areas, ensuring resident safety and enjoyment.

This position offers an opportunity to serve as the Director in the latter's absence, providing essential leadership and continuity in program operations. The ideal candidate will display strong organizational skills, creativity, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal communication abilities. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years experience in recreational programming
  • Colorado drivers license in good standing
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Moderate physical effort required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
  • Sits, stands, bends and moves intermittently during working hours
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions
  • Interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience in recreational programming

Job Duties

  • Assist in writing, designing, distributing, and evaluating the monthly life enrichment calendar
  • Inventory, purchase, and stock supplies and equipment as needed
  • Drive the community bus for scenic rides and large or small group outings
  • Observe and communicate resident needs, interests, and responses to programs and activities with appropriate staff
  • Compile data for reporting purposes and perform various clerical and administrative tasks
  • Serve on committees as assigned
  • Provide support to the Director with functions such as timecard administration, care conferences, and budget compliance
