The Community Life Assistant role at Christian Living Communities is a vital position that supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of diverse life enrichment programs designed to meet individual resident needs and interests. This full-time position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional evening and weekend work, including driving excursions, involves working in a fast-paced Independent Living environment with a variety of daily responsibilities. The role requires building positive relationships with residents, vendors, entertainers, volunteers, and team members to facilitate successful program delivery. The Community Life Assistant helps organize group and one-on-one activities that promote holistic well-being and foster strong resident engagement and community connections.
In this position, the assistant aids in the development and distribution of the monthly life enrichment calendar, manages inventories, purchases supplies, and drives a community bus to escort residents on scenic rides and outings. The role also includes administrative support duties such as scheduling, reporting, clerical tasks, and serving as a liaison during care conferences and committee meetings. Additionally, the Community Life Assistant supports the Director and may serve as acting Director in their absence, underscoring the leadership responsibilities inherent in the role.
This position requires a positive, service-oriented approach when working with older adults and community partners, along with strong organizational skills, creativity, flexibility, and proficiency in computer applications. Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED, with preference given to those with activity professional coursework and 1 to 2 years of experience in recreational programming. A valid Colorado driver's license in good standing is mandatory due to driving responsibilities. Physical demands include occasional handling of objects up to 50 pounds and frequent interaction with residents and staff.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years experience in recreational programming
- valid Colorado drivers license in good standing
- must be able to read, write and speak the English language
- must possess excellent customer service skills
- moderate physical effort required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
- sits, stands, bends and moves intermittently during working hours
- is subject to frequent interruptions
- interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- activity professional coursework preferred
- 1-2 years experience in recreational programming
- Colorado drivers license in good standing

Job Duties
- Assist in writing, designing, distributing, and evaluating the monthly life enrichment calendar
- inventory, purchase, and stock supplies and equipment as needed
- drive the community bus for scenic rides and large or small group outings
- observe and communicate resident needs, interests, and responses to programs and activities with appropriate staff
- compile data for reporting purposes and perform various clerical and administrative tasks
- serve on committees as assigned
- provide support to the Director with functions such as timecard administration, care conferences, and budget compliance
- serve as Director in the Director’s absence when designated
- perform other duties as assigned
