Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with applicable state licensure requirements
- Current LPN or LVN license or certification in the state of assigned duties
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Completion of FDA approved training for Medical Support Specialist
- Minimum two years clinical or hospital experience
- Fulfillment of state IV therapy requirements
- Availability for open shifts including alternating weekends and various specified weekday hours
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified as LPN or LVN in the state of assignment
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Completed FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Minimum two years clinical or hospital setting experience
Job Duties
- Determine donor eligibility including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and serological protein electrophoresis review
- Evaluate donor reactions occurring at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities
- Refer donors to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical and technical guidance including donor safety and eligibility
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
- Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health or emergency room
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support investigations of pandemic threats as directed
