Job Requirements

  • Valid Customs Brokerage License required
  • BS or BA degree preferred or equivalent related work experience
  • Minimum 8 years of experience working as an Entry Writer with progressive management responsibility preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Customs Regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team-building and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Professional communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively
  • Willingness to travel periodically
  • Ability to perform duties in an office environment with minimal physical demands

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Customs Brokerage License
  • BS or BA degree preferred or equivalent related work experience
  • 8+ years of experience as an Entry Writer with progressive management responsibility preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Customs Regulations
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent team-building, planning, and organizational capabilities
  • Strong customer service orientation with professionalism
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Windows programs including Word and Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Work to maintain full compliance and adherence with US Customs Broker Regulations
  • Monitor and ensure team’s performance aligns with DACHSER’s compliance policy and department goals
  • Provide guidance and leadership to Entry Writers within the department
  • Communicate and conduct regular training based on new regulations and policies
  • Provide clear instruction to ensure timely and orderly file flow including release, billing, and auditing
  • Conduct regular entry audits to ensure document accuracy and correct customs submission
  • Monitor problem files and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Collaborate with Sales Team to onboard new brokerage accounts and vet Powers of Attorney
  • Assist Sales Team in quoting brokerage business including value-added services
  • Support local sales efforts with timely responses to emails and rate requests
  • Review existing business to improve profitability through efficiencies and tools
  • Maintain communications with customers, government agencies, and other DACHSER offices
  • Work with internal partners to develop inbound transportation program
  • Manage Customs House Brokerage Department staff including performance management and career development
  • Perform other duties as assigned
