The Licensed Customs Broker role is a pivotal position within the import department, responsible for overseeing and managing all customs entry activities in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other government requirements. This role demands expertise in HTS classification, valuation, admissibility, and duty minimization strategies, ensuring entries are accurate and compliant. The Licensed Customs Broker will lead the customs clearance process, provide essential guidance to staff and clients, and serve as a subject matter expert on regulatory changes and compliance issues. This position involves coordinating closely with import operations teams to ensure timely and accurate filings and assisting customers with documentation requirements and compliance best practices.

The role also includes training and developing junior staff, conducting internal audits, coordinating corrective actions, and managing communication with CBP and other relevant government agencies. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are critical, as the Broker must monitor compliance risks proactively and support audit processes. The position requires maintaining an active U.S. Customs Broker license and a deep understanding of electronic filing systems such as ABI software. Job Requirements

  • Valid U.S. Customs Broker License
  • minimum 5 years of experience in customs brokerage or trade compliance
  • knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, valuation, and trade programs
  • experience using ABI software and electronic filing systems
  • strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to work full-time Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM
  • willingness to occasionally work extended hours
  • capacity for occasional travel or site visits
  • aptitude for training and supervising staff

Job Qualifications

  • Valid U.S. Customs Broker License
  • 5+ years of experience in customs brokerage or trade compliance
  • strong understanding of CBP regulations, HTS classification, valuation, and trade programs
  • experience with ABI software and electronic filing systems
  • excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • team leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • ability to train and develop junior staff
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance systems
  • high school diploma required
  • college degree preferred

Job Duties

  • Optimize entry accuracy - review documents for HTS classification, valuation, origin, and applicable free trade programs
