The Leasing Consultant role at Hawthorne serves as a critical ambassador of the Live It culture, going beyond traditional leasing responsibilities. Known as Leasing & Live It Specialists, individuals in this position are the face of their communities, charged with creating standout experiences and meaningful connections with prospects and residents alike. This role involves greeting prospective residents warmly, conducting personalized tours that showcase the unique lifestyle and value of the community, and responding promptly to inquiries via various communication channels.
Leasing Consultants drive leasing success by converting leads into leases through relationship-building and understanding resident needs deeply. They manage leasing applications, verifications, and new move-in paperwork with accuracy, contributing directly to occupancy and renewal goals. In addition, Leasing Consultants foster lasting resident relationships by coordinating and attending community events, addressing resident concerns with empathy and efficiency, and fostering a clean, welcoming environment.
Moreover, these specialists help build brand and community awareness by engaging in marketing efforts including social media and community outreach, while staying informed about local market trends and competitors. This dynamic role requires a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, persuasive abilities, and a willingness to learn and adapt within Hawthorne’s standards.
The work schedule for this position is designed to balance professional demands with personal time, with office hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. One weekday off is provided each week to maintain a 40-hour schedule. Flexibility is required for occasional evening and weekend events depending on community needs. Compensation includes hourly pay plus eligibility for monthly leasing and renewal commissions and performance incentives.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Customer service experience preferred
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor
Job Qualifications

- One year of customer service experience preferred
- Experience in sales or apartment leasing is a plus but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends

Job Duties
- Greet prospective residents with warmth and professionalism
- Conduct personalized apartment tours that highlight the lifestyle and value of the community
- Respond to phone, email, and web inquiries promptly and thoroughly
- Convert leads to leases through follow-up, relationship-building, and deep understanding of resident needs
- Complete leasing applications, verifications, and new move-in paperwork accurately
