Established as one of the world's largest airline catering providers, LSG Sky Chefs has built a reputation for quality, innovation, and dedication to client satisfaction. The company prides itself on its commitment to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and fostering a supportive work environment for its employees. It was voted "Airline Caterer of the Year in North America" for both 2023 and 2024, underscoring its position as a pioneer in the sector. The company operates out of multiple locations, with a significant presence at Chicago O'Hare International Airport.
The Lean Process Improvement Manager role is a pivotal position based on-site at our Sky Chefs facility in Des Plaines, near Chicago O'Hare International Airport. This role emphasizes leading and driving continuous improvement initiatives under the LSG Production System specifically tuned for the Customer Service Center (CSC). The successful candidate will be integral in implementing lean manufacturing principles, facilitating training and coaching for staff, and supporting management teams in reaching operational targets and KPIs. This role requires flexibility in schedule owing to the nature of airline catering operations, which run 24/7, 365 days a year, often requiring work for five consecutive days followed by two days off.
With a salary range of $90,000 to $115,000 annually, this full-time position reports directly to the Director of Operations and collaborates closely with the Continuous Improvement team for the Americas region. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in industrial or process engineering, coupled with significant experience in lean manufacturing and process improvement projects. Key responsibilities include cost reduction analysis, KPI reporting, and driving a culture of lean principles across all levels of the customer service operations. Proficiency in conducting Kaizen events and workshop facilitation is essential, as is the ability to lead change management initiatives while effectively communicating and interacting with all organizational levels.
As part of joining LSG Sky Chefs, the Lean Process Improvement Manager becomes a vital member of a globally respected operation that values innovation, quality, and employee development. This role not only offers competitive compensation but also the opportunity to make a lasting impact in transforming operational processes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The company's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion promotes a welcoming atmosphere for all employees, including minorities, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and women. By joining LSG Sky Chefs, the candidate will be contributing to the ongoing excellence in airline catering services and help advance the company's operational goals through strategic lean initiatives and hands-on leadership.
