Job Description

The current role on offer is a full-time Custodial Team Leader position working Monday through Friday, from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with an hourly wage of $22.54. This position is essential in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of public and workspaces, primarily focusing on executive and command areas. The individual in this role will perform manual labor associated with cleaning, maintenance, and restoration tasks. They will also oversee and lead a team of custodians, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work in compliance with contract specifications and agency policies. The Custodial Team Leader will serve as a mentor, assist in training new employees, and manage the quality and quantity of their team’s work.
Key responsibilities include daily cleaning functions, mentoring new hires, managing supplies, and addressing issues promptly with supervisors. The role demands physical stamina for long periods of standing, walking, and performing manual labor involving lifting up to 50 lbs. The candidate must demonstrate abilities to lead, direct others, maintain safety, and uphold high standards of cleanliness in restrooms, kitchens, fitness centers, and general building areas, including glass surfaces, floors, and exterior spaces. Moreover, secondary duties for floor care, inventory assistance, and acting as a supervisor in the absence of the main supervisor are part of the role’s scope.
Ideal candidates will possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent, along with custodial experience and training. CPR/FR certification is preferred but not mandatory. This position is designed for individuals who are able to work flexible schedules, follow detailed instructions, and maintain alertness for safety and quality assurance. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- six months of custodial experience preferred
- custodial training desired
- valid CPR/FR certification preferred
- ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
- ability to go up and down stairs
- ability to reach above the head, bend, kneel, stoop
- ability to lift, carry, and push up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. as needed
- ability to work in dusty spaces or adverse weather conditions
- ability to see details on the floor, above the head, or on surfaces

Job Duties
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures and follow contract specifications
- perform daily cleaning functions while leading team in day-to-day activities
- act as mentor to newly hired custodians, ensuring and reporting on quality and quantity of work completed by custodians in team
- assign rework as needed and assist to ensure 100% compliance with contract specifications
- assist with training staff in proper cleaning procedures and techniques
- work closely with supervisor to ensure all duties assigned to team are completed
- promptly answer and respond to all calls or messages from supervisor or designated representative
