Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior food service experience required, preferably in a lead position
  • Experience waiting tables preferred
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to customer service
  • Ability to follow safety and food service department policies
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Supervise other wait staff and food service workers to ensure that all jobs are done in a timely manner
  • Set tables with clean linens, condiments, or other supplies
  • Work with nursing and other dining staff to serve residents
  • Ensure all food service department policies and safety rules are followed
  • Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays
  • Wipe tables or seats with dampened cloths or replace dirty tablecloths when needed
  • Perform serving, cleaning, or stocking duties in establishments, such as cafeterias or dining rooms, to facilitate customer service
  • Serve food to customers when waiters or waitresses need assistance
