Rooted in service and united by a shared purpose, Aramark is dedicated to making a positive impact on its employees, partners, communities, and the planet. The company emphasizes equal employment opportunity and fosters an inclusive environment, where all employees can participate fully without discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics. Aramark believes in nurturing talent, fueling passions, and empowering professional growth, making it a dynamic and supportive workplace for anyone seeking a rewarding career in this sector.
The position of Lead Steward at Aramark is a key role within the stewarding operation responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and maintenance of all dishes, serve ware, equipment, and related kitchen utensils. This role is crucial to ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly, meeting client demands and excellent guest satisfaction standards. The Lead Steward is not just involved in cleaning responsibilities but is also tasked with the oversight and delegation of responsibilities among the stewarding staff. This leadership aspect requires effective coordination, scheduling, and training to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
The role demands a hands-on approach where the Lead Steward oversees dishwashing stations, maintains cleanliness of sinks and related areas, and ensures all kitchen equipment is properly sanitized and in good working order. Reporting any maintenance issues and performing minor custodial tasks are also part of this role. Maintaining excellent customer service attitudes and adhering strictly to Aramark's safety policies—including food safety and sanitation regulations—are vital. This position demands physical stamina, with tasks requiring frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, sometimes of up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, supports difference in client requirements and business needs.
Compensation for this position ranges from $25.73 to $26.63 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Aramark offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision coverage, work-life resources, retirement savings plans such as 401(k), and paid time off including parental leave and disability coverage. Benefits may vary by location and are subject to legal requirements, employee eligibility, and geographic factors.
Joining Aramark as a Lead Steward means becoming part of a team that values commitment and the development of new skills to meet job demands and exceed expectations. The role may evolve with changing duties to meet Aramark's commitment to service excellence and operational effectiveness, making it a dynamic and rewarding career opportunity for motivated individuals dedicated to leadership and quality in stewarding operations.
