Job Requirements
- 21 years of age or above
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses and work cards including alcohol awareness card and food handler card
- Alcohol Awareness certification required
- Nevada Health Card required
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policy and procedure documents
- Fluency in English required, second language a plus
- Ability to respond to inquiries from employees or guests effectively
- Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and group settings effectively
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
- Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to meet physical demands including standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 30 pounds, and having specific vision abilities
- Ability to work varying schedules to meet business needs
- Ability to interact professionally with guests and team members in moderate to loud noise environments
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Head Sommelier in a restaurant with an extensive wine program
- Previous work experience as a food server
- Advanced service knowledge and expert understanding of wines, including vintages, regions, and food pairings
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Point of Sales system proficiency
- Experience with planning and project management
- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of union and non-union work environments preferred
Job Duties
- Ensure all Wynn Las Vegas core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied
- Promote positive, fair, and ethical relations with all team members and external partners
- Make recommendations for new wine concepts and refresh existing selections
- Collaborate with the Administrative Wine Team on specific projects
- Determine strategic vendor partnerships and select wines for the outlet
- Maintain safety standards within the department and comply with company policies
- Keep current with industry knowledge through continuing education and training
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
