Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in planning and coordinating recreational programs
  • Ability to supervise children teens seniors and staff
  • Proficiency with RecTrac software or similar registration systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial transactions
  • Ability to work independently using initiative and judgment
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Ability to perform physical activities including lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently
  • Must comply with safety sensitive position requirements under Florida State Statute Chapter 112.0455

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in recreation program coordination or similar role preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and RecTrac software preferred
  • Experience in supervising staff and volunteers
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial record keeping
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse age groups and community members

Job Duties

  • Plans organizes and leads a wide variety of recreational and special events activities for participants of all age groups
  • Oversees programming to ensure it remains within budget
  • Assists in the acquisition and completion of registration forms for recreation and event programs
  • Performs participant registration and collects fees for programs and activities
  • Prepares newsletters flyers posters and other materials to promote programs and events
  • Sets up activities in RecTrac software system
  • Coordinates and processes special event permits
  • Processes purchase orders check requests and vendor payments
  • Maintains records and accounts of attendance financial charges receipts accident and incident reports
  • Performs reporting and record keeping duties
  • Supervises and trains staff and volunteers when necessary
  • Takes photographs of activities for the City website
  • Assists with front desk support and Tennis Center operations
  • Responsible for grant requirements and reports for programs and events
  • Prepares all event and program documents including handbook applications and registration forms
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned
