This particular opportunity is for a Recreation Program Coordinator, a key role in the city's Parks and Recreation Department. This position involves planning, overseeing, and implementing a variety of recreation programs and special events designed to serve residents of all ages, including children, teens, adults, and seniors. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in planning and coordinating recreational programs
- Ability to supervise children teens seniors and staff
- Proficiency with RecTrac software or similar registration systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage budgets and financial transactions
- Ability to work independently using initiative and judgment
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to perform physical activities including lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently
- Must comply with safety sensitive position requirements under Florida State Statute Chapter 112.0455
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in recreation program coordination or similar role preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and RecTrac software preferred
- Experience in supervising staff and volunteers
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial record keeping
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse age groups and community members
Job Duties
- Plans organizes and leads a wide variety of recreational and special events activities for participants of all age groups
- Oversees programming to ensure it remains within budget
- Assists in the acquisition and completion of registration forms for recreation and event programs
- Performs participant registration and collects fees for programs and activities
- Prepares newsletters flyers posters and other materials to promote programs and events
- Sets up activities in RecTrac software system
- Coordinates and processes special event permits
- Processes purchase orders check requests and vendor payments
- Maintains records and accounts of attendance financial charges receipts accident and incident reports
- Performs reporting and record keeping duties
- Supervises and trains staff and volunteers when necessary
- Takes photographs of activities for the City website
- Assists with front desk support and Tennis Center operations
- Responsible for grant requirements and reports for programs and events
- Prepares all event and program documents including handbook applications and registration forms
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned
