The Lead Porter position is a key operational role within Boardwalk's property management team. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily porter operations to ensure that all common areas, grounds, restrooms, and outdoor spaces across the assigned properties are clean, safe, and well-maintained. The Lead Porter not only performs cleaning and maintenance tasks but also leads by example, managing and supporting a team of porters to maintain high property standards. Collaboration with property management is essential to coordinate efforts and address any maintenance, safety, or supply-related concerns promptly.
Working Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, the Lead Porter plays a critical role in the ongoing upkeep and operational excellence of Boardwalk’s commercial real estate assets. Duties include handling routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, sanitization, and operating specialized equipment like pressure washers and window washing tools. The role also involves basic maintenance work, including changing light bulbs and air filters, conducting inspections, and reporting issues to management. Additionally, the Lead Porter assigns daily tasks to the porter team, provides guidance, assists with new employee training, and monitors inventory for necessary cleaning supplies and equipment.
Ideal candidates for this position will have prior experience in janitorial or porter roles with proven leadership skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel reliably between properties. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, as the Lead Porter must respond professionally to resident and management requests while maintaining compliance with all safety procedures, including proper handling of PPE and cleaning chemicals. This physically demanding role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, kneel, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in various indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
