Job Requirements

  • FAA Commercial Rotorcraft License
  • Helicopter Instrument Rating
  • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
  • Minimum 3,000 hours total helicopter flight time
  • Minimum 1,500 hours pilot in command (helicopter)
  • Minimum 2,000 hours turbine flight time
  • Minimum 500 hours nighttime flying
  • Minimum 200 hours IFR flight time
  • Meet US Forest Service carding requirements
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including maximum duty weight of 230 pounds and ability to lift 70 pounds
  • Ability to make quick and sound decisions under pressure
  • Adapt to changing schedules and operational needs
  • Follow instructions precisely

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3,000 hours total helicopter flight time
  • Minimum 1,500 hours pilot in command (helicopter)
  • Minimum 2,000 hours turbine flight time
  • Minimum 500 hours nighttime flying
  • Minimum 200 hours IFR flight time
  • Meet US Forest Service carding requirements including 100 flight hours in last 12 months, 50 hours in EC-135, and 200 hours mountain flying
  • Preferred FAR Part 135 and EMS operational experience
  • Preferred NVG experience
  • FAA Commercial Rotorcraft License
  • Helicopter Instrument Rating
  • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate

Job Duties

  • Manage assigned flight schedule and be ready for additional shifts as necessary
  • Ensure aircraft are ready for dispatch including regulatory compliance and presentation
  • Accurately complete essential documentation such as duty logs and timesheets
  • Participate in required training and maintain ongoing education
  • Communicate operational details effectively during shift handoffs
  • Represent the company professionally in all interactions
  • Adhere to company policies and safety standards at all times
  • Attend necessary meetings and training sessions
  • Ensure compliance with FARs, company SOPs, and operational standards among pilots
  • Coordinate with airport and FBO operations
  • Review and approve timecards ensuring accurate reporting
  • Manage pilot schedules and address coverage requirements
  • Monitor team performance and promote a positive work environment
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback
  • Oversee training and preparation for checkrides
  • Assist with hiring pilots and mechanics
  • Collaborate to resolve safety and operational concerns
  • Support training for medical crew integration
  • Participate in leadership meetings and process reviews
