Job Description

Baptist Health is the largest not-for-profit healthcare organization in the region, operating 12 hospitals and employing over 28,000 dedicated professionals, including 4,500 physicians. Its extensive network includes 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities, and physician practices that span Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Recognized for its diverse medical specialties, Baptist Health boasts internationally renowned centers of excellence in cancer treatment, cardiovascular care, orthopedics and sports medicine, and neurosciences. The organization’s commitment to medical excellence is deeply rooted in its faith-based mission and supported through philanthropy, emphasizing compassionate, high-quality patient care.

Baptist Health has received consistent recognition for its workplace culture, having been named one of Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For for 25 years. In the 2024-2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital Rankings, it was the most awarded healthcare system in South Florida, earning 45 high-performing honors. Baptist Health’s unique strength lies in its people — employees who strive to build personal connections with colleagues and patients, fostering a culture of compassion and meaningful relationships that extend beyond clinical interactions. This dedication transforms every team member into an integral part of a purpose-driven community where quality care and service excellence are the foundation.

The role available is a key patient access position within the Baptist Health system. This position requires exceptional teamwork, service orientation, and comprehensive knowledge of the BHSF Revenue Cycle from the Patient Access perspective. As a Patient Access specialist, the individual will take a leadership role serving as a preceptor for new hires, demonstrating exemplary skills in scheduling patient appointments for various diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures or treatments. Essential duties include obtaining and verifying patient demographic and insurance details, registering patients, and accurately entering data into the scheduling system.

Working primarily in a call center environment, this position demands high performance in meeting individual quality metrics and productivity standards. It offers the opportunity to act as a resource within Patient Access and to step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of a manager or supervisor. This includes supporting departmental initiatives, participating in committees, and championing continuous improvement projects.

The position requires travel to multiple Concierge practice locations including Pinecrest, South Miami, Coral Gables, and Kendall, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment. The ideal candidate must embody Baptist Health's commitment to service excellence, delivering professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members. This role is critical in supporting the organization’s mission to provide outstanding patient experiences and maintain operational excellence in patient access services.
