Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 2 years Patient Access experience
- meet or exceed registration accuracy and productivity standards
- exceed departmental KPIs
- positive attitude and self-motivation
- cross-trained in multiple areas
- ability to work in high volume fast-paced environment
- detail oriented and organized
- excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines
- understanding of insurance contracts and scheduling protocols
- experience with Microsoft Office and EMR software
- knowledge of medical terminology
- bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent training or experience
- minimum of 2 years Patient Access experience for internal staff
- associate degree preferred for external applicants
- meet or exceed registration accuracy and productivity standards
- exceed departmental KPIs
- maintain positive attitude and self-motivation
- cross-trained in multiple areas to substitute all staff positions
- complete and pass the Patient Access training course
- ability to work in high volume, fast-paced environment
- detail-oriented and organized
- excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage
- understanding of insurance contracts and scheduling guidelines
- experience with Microsoft Office and EMR applications
- knowledge of medical terminology
- bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole
Job Duties
- Serve as a preceptor for new hires
- schedule patient appointments including diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures or treatments
- obtain and verify necessary demographic and insurance information
- register patients and enter data into scheduling system
- meet individual quality metrics in a call center environment
- act as a Patient Access resource and take on leadership role in absence of manager or supervisor
- support go lives and departmental initiatives
- participate in departmental committees and champion opportunities
