Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
minimum 2 years Patient Access experience
meet or exceed registration accuracy and productivity standards
exceed departmental KPIs
positive attitude and self-motivation
cross-trained in multiple areas
ability to work in high volume fast-paced environment
detail oriented and organized
excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines
understanding of insurance contracts and scheduling protocols
experience with Microsoft Office and EMR software
knowledge of medical terminology
bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent training or experience
minimum of 2 years Patient Access experience for internal staff
associate degree preferred for external applicants
meet or exceed registration accuracy and productivity standards
exceed departmental KPIs
maintain positive attitude and self-motivation
cross-trained in multiple areas to substitute all staff positions
complete and pass the Patient Access training course
ability to work in high volume, fast-paced environment
detail-oriented and organized
excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage
understanding of insurance contracts and scheduling guidelines
experience with Microsoft Office and EMR applications
knowledge of medical terminology
bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole

Job Duties

Serve as a preceptor for new hires
schedule patient appointments including diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures or treatments
obtain and verify necessary demographic and insurance information
register patients and enter data into scheduling system
meet individual quality metrics in a call center environment
act as a Patient Access resource and take on leadership role in absence of manager or supervisor
support go lives and departmental initiatives
participate in departmental committees and champion opportunities
