Job Description
Crystal Mountain is a premier mountain resort located in Washington, renowned as the largest ski resort in the state and a celebrated destination for skiers, snowboarders, and outdoor enthusiasts. As part of the Alterra Mountain Company, Crystal Mountain proudly aligns itself with some of the world's most aspirational brands, elevating the guest experience to new heights. Set amidst the breathtaking National Forest and near the iconic Mt. Rainier, Crystal Mountain offers an unparalleled environment where nature's beauty meets thrilling adventure. Year-round events and a vibrant community bring people together to enjoy mountain lifestyle, camaraderie, and passion for outdoor pursuits. The resort also places a strong emphasis on community culture, empowerment, authenticity, collaboration, and purposeful work, aiming to create lasting memories and legendary adventures for all its visitors and team members.
The Lead Line Cook position at Crystal Mountain is a pivotal role within the Food & Beverage department, specifically working with the Summit House and Brew 62 outlets. Reporting directly to the Executive Sous Chef, this role involves overseeing kitchen operations to ensure exceptional culinary delivery and guest satisfaction. As a Lead Line Cook, you will be a key figure in training, guiding, and mentoring culinary staff, including Stewards, Expeditors, Cook I, and Cook II team members. The position demands a strong commitment to upholding food safety standards, maintaining cleanliness, adhering to recipes, and delivering high-quality food products consistently. It's a role suited for individuals with a passion for culinary excellence, leadership skills, and a desire to grow within the ski industry or mountain resort hospitality sector.
Candidates for this seasonal position should be enthusiastic about working in a dynamic, high-energy environment with a focus on team collaboration and guest experience. The opportunity includes eligibility for employee housing, which is highly advantageous for those relocating or wishing to immerse themselves fully in the mountain lifestyle. The pay range for this role is $24 to $26 per hour, reflective of the skill and responsibilities involved. Crystal Mountain offers extensive perks such as free season passes for employees and their families, significant discounts on ski-related services and gear, access to multiple Alterra resorts during time off, and various employee events that foster a vibrant work-life balance.
The Lead Line Cook will be instrumental in supporting the Executive Sous Chef in operating the kitchen effectively, ensuring all health and safety regulations are met, and promoting a positive and professional culinary culture. This role also requires physical endurance and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, catering to the resort's operational needs. With 3 to 5 years of kitchen operations experience preferred, and the ability to obtain a Washington Food Safety Card within three days of hire, this position offers growth and advancement opportunities within one of the Pacific Northwest's most exciting resort environments. Joining Crystal Mountain means becoming part of a unique mountain community passionate about delivering unforgettable guest experiences and advancing mountain adventure culture.
