Job Requirements
- Education in culinary arts or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a cook or lead cook in a restaurant or catering setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to supervise and train staff effectively
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work 30 to 40 hours per week onsite
Job Qualifications
- Strong background in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Culinary degree is a plus
- Extensive culinary experience with proficiency in knife skills, meal preparation, and food handling
- Familiarity with fine dining standards and restaurant or catering environments
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Prior experience in kitchen operations or restaurant environments is highly desirable
Job Duties
- Lead and supervise daily cooking operations, ensuring adherence to all food safety and handling protocols
- Coordinate food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Manage kitchen operations, including food handling, meal preparation, and catering services for special events or daily service
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in culinary techniques, knife skills, and food industry best practices
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety procedures across all food service activities
- Collaborate with front of house to optimize service delivery and improve overall dining experiences
