Job Description

Pilot Company is a leading network of travel centers operating across North America, consisting of more than 750 retail and fueling locations in 44 states and six Canadian provinces. Founded in 1958 by Jim A. Haslam II, the company has grown to employ over 30,000 team members, extending its reach throughout the energy and logistics sectors. Pilot Company maintains a substantial presence in its energy and logistics division, which stands as a top supplier of fuel, managing one of the largest tanker fleets in the industry and providing essential support to oil operations in some of the nation’s busiest basins. This extensive network and dedicated workforce enable Pilot to serve a dynamic portfolio of brands, leveraging expertise in supply chain management, retail operations, logistics, transportation, technology and digital innovation, construction, maintenance, human resources, finance, sales, and marketing. The organization’s success is grounded in its founding values, a strong people-first culture, and a steadfast commitment to giving back to communities across the regions it serves. Under the leadership of current CEO Adam Wright, Pilot Company continues to uphold these principles, emphasizing exceptional service to guests, collaboration among team members, and reliable support for the trucking and transportation industry that depend on it to keep North America moving. Pilot Company embraces diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status by law. Military veterans are especially encouraged to apply, reflecting the company’s respect for service and community.

The role available is designed to provide operational support to the restaurant management team within Pilot Company’s travel centers. This position is critical in supervising restaurant activities, primarily during non-peak service hours, with flexibility to manage operations at other times as needed. Key responsibilities include upholding both Brand and Pilot Travel Centers (PTC) restaurant operational standards to ensure consistent, high-quality guest experiences. The role offers an opportunity to actively engage in executing shift plans, following up on assigned tasks, assisting the management team, and working in various hourly positions. The employee will monitor food preparation, register procedures, and cash handling policies, ensuring adherence to strict hospitality and Speed of Service (SOS) standards that align with both Brand and PTC expectations. Leadership is fundamental in providing clear direction to team members during shifts, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, overseeing labor usage, and ensuring compliance with break policies. This position also supports the training and cross-training of staff members under the guidance of management and works closely with the Restaurant General Manager to meet operational objectives. Attention to detail is essential for maintaining dress codes, marketing compliance, product availability, and cleanliness protocols, contributing to an inviting and efficient restaurant environment. Safety is a top priority, with responsibilities including enforcing safe working conditions and security policies. The job offers an hourly pay range starting between $13.80 and $20.13, reflecting the importance of this role in delivering excellent guest service and operational excellence. Additional benefits include a comprehensive fuel discount, a nationwide medical plan covering dental and vision, 401(k) retirement options, flexible spending accounts, adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement, flexible scheduling, and weekly pay. This job is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a supportive and dynamic workplace where they can grow professionally while contributing to a leading company in the travel and logistics industry.
