This position offers a family-friendly schedule from Monday to Friday, with no nights, weekends, or major holidays required, making it ideal for those seeking work-life balance. Compensation for this position is competitive, with a pay rate of $20.00 per hour. The Lead Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals in accordance with established nutrition and portion guidelines, overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, and leading an energetic and motivated kitchen crew. The role entails handling food ordering, receiving, and storage, managing food safety and cleanliness, setting up serving lines, and delivering meals for classrooms, staff, or catered events as needed.
In addition, the Lead Food Service Worker manages point-of-sale (POS) cash handling duties, ensuring transactions are accurate and deposits are correctly made. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. Beyond the day-to-day duties, the Lead Food Service Worker becomes a key member of a mission-driven team dedicated to fueling student success through quality nutrition. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, a 401K plan with company match, paid time off, and a positive work environment where your contribution truly matters.
Working in this role also means embracing the physical demands of the job, such as standing for extended periods, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in various temperature environments including hot kitchens and cold storage. The Lead Food Service Worker must be able to communicate effectively in English, demonstrate reliability, a positive attitude, and foster a strong team spirit.
