Job Description
Seattle Gymnastics Academy (SGA) is a leading gymnastics organization that offers a variety of programs designed to cater to kids at different skill levels and interests. Operating across multiple locations in the Greater Seattle area, including Ballard, Burien, Columbia City, Lake City, and Mill Creek, SGA provides a positive and inclusive environment where children can have fun, learn new skills, and compete if they choose. The academy is known for its dedication to fostering growth and development through gymnastics, combining physical activity with character-building experiences. Their programs are categorized into three main types: Play, Learn, and Compete, ensuring that every child finds an engaging way to participate. The Play programming, specifically, focuses on creating memorable and enjoyable experiences for children and their families through special events like birthday parties, Parents' Night Out, and camps.
The role of Lead Events Coach / Coordinator at Seattle Gymnastics Academy is a pivotal position within the Play programming category. This role involves leading a small team of junior Special Events coaches to deliver exceptional events that align with SGA's mission, core values, and established policies and procedures. It is ideally suited for someone who has a passion for working with children and aims to be a positive role model. The Lead Events Coach / Coordinator is responsible not only for managing event execution but also for nurturing a fun, safe, and welcoming atmosphere. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage with both children and adults effectively. It offers a unique opportunity to work in an energetic environment that prioritizes inclusivity and fun.
In addition to overseeing event programming such as birthday parties, Parents' Night Out, and camps, this role demands availability during evenings and Sundays, which are peak times for these events. For candidates considering full-time employment, there is an added responsibility to coach recreational gymnastics classes during the weekdays. This combination of duties ensures a varied and dynamic work schedule that supports both the running of special events and weekly gymnastics instruction.
SGA emphasizes employee growth and offers competitive pay coupled with a comprehensive benefits package. Employees benefit from health insurance, a Health Savings Account, a 401(k) plan with employer match, participation in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, Paid Time Off, Paid Family Leave, and more. Training is a significant aspect of the position, with customized learning opportunities tailored to individual styles. New hires will go through a thorough training program that equips them with the skills and knowledge to succeed. Moreover, working for SGA means being part of a vibrant community network where employees engage in special community events like parades and farmer's markets to promote awareness and participation in SGA's programs. The job entails light cleaning duties to maintain a pleasant environment for all. Candidates prepared to take on this leadership role will find an energetic workplace with ample opportunity for career growth and professional development.
