Job Requirements

  • Education equivalent to high school diploma or GED
  • at least 1 year of housekeeping experience in a hospital setting
  • ability to supervise and manage a team of employees
  • knowledge of chemical sanitizers and general housekeeping functions
  • familiarity with regulatory standards including Joint Commission requirements
  • strong leadership and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Supervise a staff of 25 or more employees
  • provide leadership, direction and equity in dealing with employees
  • create effective and cohesive working relationships with department employees and hospital staff
  • ensure regulatory compliance for sanitation for patients, guests, and employees
  • maintain sanitation of public areas to project a strong and positive image
  • generate pertinent policy and procedure to ensure compliance to infection control and sanitation standards
  • coordinate rental linen and uniform efforts
