Job Description
Sifted is a dynamic and innovative company founded by Jess Legge and Kimberly Lexow in 2015, born from their desire to revolutionize the traditional work lunch experience. With backgrounds in high-growth tech startups, they envisioned a workplace where employees not only work hard and fast but also enjoy inspired and communal meals during their breaks. This vision has propelled Sifted into becoming a premier employee experience partner that serves millions of meals to Fortune 500 companies and burgeoning startups across the United States. Beyond just food delivery, Sifted has expanded its offerings to include virtual team-building experiences, perfectly catering to the evolving flexible workplace environment heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic. The company prides itself on its commitment to core values that emphasize good, simple food, supporting big ideas, embracing feedback, valuing diversity, and evolving by learning from mistakes. Sifted’s operations also prioritize sustainability, ensuring zero food waste through composting and donating leftovers, with over $3 million in lunches donated to combat food insecurity in six cities.
The Driver/Porter role at Sifted is a crucial position within the culinary team, combining responsibilities of delivery and kitchen support to maintain smooth daily operations. Working a flexible schedule from Sunday to Thursday, primarily during afternoons and evenings, this role requires the candidate to have reliable driving skills and the ability to handle deliveries with care and punctuality. The Driver/Porter will operate a 26-foot box truck, transporting chef-prepared meals from the company’s commercial kitchen in Denver to a trainyard, where orders are received directly by clients. This means the candidate needs excellent communication skills to interface effectively with clients and provide clear explanations about deliveries. Besides delivery duties, the role supports kitchen activities including receiving shipments, managing waste, dishwashing, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in storage areas. Candidates with experience in the food service, catering, or brand ambassador industries, coupled with operational savvy and a high level of reliability, are ideal for this role. A valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and completion of a train safety course are mandatory requirements.
This position offers a competitive pay range of $20 to $22 per hour in Salt Lake City, Utah, and includes benefits like comprehensive company-sponsored health insurance plans, paid time off, free lunch during meal service, and opportunities for growth and advancement within a fast-growing startup environment. Additionally, employees must maintain ServSafe Food Handler certification to ensure food safety standards are upheld. Overall, this job is tailored for motivated individuals who are enthusiastic about delivering excellent service, contributing to a sustainable and supportive workplace culture, and growing alongside a mission-driven and environmentally conscious company.
