Job Description
Misfits Market is a mission-driven, rapidly growing startup dedicated to addressing food waste while making sustainable, high-quality groceries more accessible and affordable for a wide range of consumers. As a key player in the e-grocery delivery industry, Misfits Market offers organic produce, premium meats and seafood, plant-based proteins, dairy, bakery items, wine, and other grocery essentials delivered directly to customers across nearly every zip code in 48 states. Their commitment to affordability is highlighted by offering products at prices up to 30 percent lower than traditional grocery stores, allowing a broader demographic to enjoy fresh and sustainable food choices without compromising on quality.
In 2022, Misfits Market strengthened its position in the sustainable grocery sector by acquiring Imperfect Foods, a like-minded e-grocer. This acquisition has helped Misfits Market streamline its operations with a proprietary in-house transportation network known for being one of the most carbon-efficient grocery delivery systems available today. This innovative approach not only provides customers with reliable and efficient delivery service but also significantly reduces the environmental footprint typical of grocery logistics.
The team at Misfits Market is passionate about creating a positive impact by tackling inefficiencies in the current food system. To date, they have saved over 190 million pounds of food from being wasted, with weekly savings averaging around 500,000 pounds, reflecting their strong commitment toward sustainability and social responsibility. The company culture emphasizes core values such as prioritizing customer experience, creative problem-solving, moving with purposeful speed, optimizing resources effectively, mutual respect, and taking initiative to deliver results—values which guide every employee at Misfits Market.
The role of a Delivery Driver at Misfits Market is pivotal in executing the company’s mission and maintaining its high standards of customer satisfaction. Delivery Drivers serve as the essential frontline ambassadors, bridging the gap between the fulfillment centers and customers’ doorsteps. This fully operational position requires a focus on timely delivery within scheduled windows and ensuring that all groceries arrive in pristine condition, matching the customers’ expectations and Misfits Market’s promise.
Misfits Market expects its Delivery Drivers to embody a positive and safety-first mindset, strictly adhering to Department of Transportation and company safety standards at all times. Drivers are integral not only to customer satisfaction but also to maintaining operational efficiency and safety during deliveries. This includes proper use of safety gear, navigating various weather and traffic conditions skillfully, handling packages carefully with correct lifting techniques, and demonstrating professionalism throughout the delivery process.
This is a part-time role with a competitive hourly rate and consistent schedules from Tuesday to Friday starting at 7:30 am. The company also offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off for vacations, holidays, and sick days, a 401(k) plan, commuter benefits, and an annual grocery box credit valued at $1,200 paid out in weekly installments to support employees’ personal grocery needs.
