Job Description

Fremont Hospital is a prominent healthcare facility specializing in psychiatric care, providing comprehensive services for children through adults. As a fully accredited, 148-bed private inpatient psychiatric hospital, Fremont Hospital offers a broad spectrum of mental health treatments, including assessments, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient services, and chemical dependency outpatient care. We are currently seeking a part-time Lead Cook for the PM shift (11am - 7:30pm) at Fremont Hospital. This role is essential in preparing patient meals and supporting the Director in the effective management and coordination of the Food Service Department. The Lead Cook is responsible for ensuring patients receive nutritious and appealing meals while maintaining a sanitary and well-organized kitchen environment. This position requires the candidate to manage supplies, proper storage of food items, and oversee food service staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will exhibit a calm demeanor under pressure, possess excellent fine motor skills, and demonstrate sharp attention to detail. Moreover, organizational skills and the ability to plan effectively are crucial, as is the capacity to collaborate well with others and handle feedback positively.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $26.00 to $32.00 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Job Requirements

  • Education at AA degree or certificate level or comparable experience
  • Experience in cooking and supervision
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to lift and push or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Flexible work hours and potential overtime

Job Qualifications

  • AA degree or certificate training in related field or comparable experience
  • Experience in cooking and staff supervision
  • Knowledge of state and federal food service regulations
  • ServSafe certification
  • Culinary certificate preferred
  • Completion of non-violent Crisis Prevention Intervention training may be required

Job Duties

  • Prepare patient meals according to dietary guidelines and preferences
