The role offered is that of a Culinary Team Member who plays a crucial part in delivering specialty food items to guests while ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction. This position provides valuable support to chefs and food and beverage managers by assisting in food preparation, training, scheduling, and the maintenance of food quality and presentation standards. The individual will be involved in preparing cold menu items, garnishing, managing food requisitions, and ensuring efficient production methods to control costs. Other responsibilities include participation in pre-shift meetings, operating kitchen equipment, adhering to health and safety protocols, and providing excellent internal and external guest service.

Candidates for this position will enjoy a hiring bonus of $750 plus $50 in gas gift cards during the onboarding process. The benefits package includes medical insurance with the casino covering over 70% of premiums, dental insurance with 79% employer premium coverage, and vision care. Prairie Band Casino & Resort also fully pays for short-term and long-term disability as well as life insurance of $15,000. Job Duties

  • Serves as assistant to the Chef, Buffet Sous Chef, Steakhouse Chef, Sous Chef, Pastry Chef, and F&B Manager, and assumes responsibilities in his/her absence
  • May be assigned to train, give instructions and prepare specialty items
  • Assists supervisor in scheduling and performance feedback
  • Conducts pre-shift meetings
  • Prepares various cold menu items and garnishes accordingly
  • Responsible for the efficient and economical utilization of all products and by-products to facilitate a lower food cost
  • Assists the Chef, Buffet Sous Chef, Steakhouse Chef, Sous Chef, Pastry Chef, and F&B Manager with specials of the day in assigned outlets
  • Inspects the following day's menus and writes out food requisitions for necessary food portions
  • Responsible for fast and clean servicing of all menu items to the servers and ensures each order sent out is uniform and consistent
  • Controls food production to include proper cooking methods, cooking time and temperature and ensures sanitation, handling and storage of prepared food and leftovers
  • Greets and completes payment transactions for customer orders while working in assigned outlets on a POS (point of sale) system, accepts payment and (when applicable) accurately gives change back to customer
  • Delivers food items to guests
  • Adequately prepares for known peak business levels and effectively maintains a high level of guest service
  • Prepares all food items from standardized recipes when working in assigned food outlets
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same
  • If 21 years of age and has obtained a High School diploma or GED, performs the duties of a Bartender in the Bingo outlet or Coffee Bar Attendant as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
