Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years line cooking experience in high quality restaurant, country club, hotel or senior living setting
  • Proficiency in various cooking techniques
  • Advanced knife skills
  • Basic knowledge of ordering kitchen supplies
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills
  • Ability to use a Point of Sale system
  • Willingness to obtain Food Handler certificate
  • Valid driver’s license if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years basic line cooking experience in a high quality restaurant, country club, hotel or senior living company
  • Proficiency in sauté, sweat, poaching, stove cookery, stir fry, grilling and broiling
  • Advanced knife skills including butchering and seafood preparation
  • Basic knowledge of ordering fish, produce and supplies
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic supervisory skills
  • Ability to use a Point of Sale system
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Some culinary education preferred
  • Possess or ability to obtain Food Handler certificate
  • Valid and current driver’s license where applicable

Job Duties

  • Assigning work to other kitchen staff as directed
  • Assisting with training and development of cooks and kitchen attendants
  • Assisting with menu development
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment
  • Assisting kitchen attendant and pastry chef as needed
  • Working all production stations while supporting executive chefs
  • Ensuring high quality food products and maintaining kitchen standards
