Job Requirements

  • High school diploma GED or equivalent
  • Valid driver license and ability to deliver food-related items to other locations
  • Ability to work with a steamer oven grill and slicer
  • Ability to perform work in extreme temperature changes such as cold environments including freezer and refrigerator
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to use applicable systems
  • Culinary arts certification
  • Pass a background and drug screening

Job Duties

  • Plan prepare and order foods following food service policy menus and recipes
  • Plan meals ahead of time to minimize the need for food substitutions and purchase and serve food of equivalent nutritional value when substitutions are necessary with guidance from the nutritionist and prior approval
  • Modify menus for on-premise events and note all modifications and substitutes on the posted menu and required records
  • Prepare appealing and tasty meals and snacks to prevent nutrition loss
  • Ensure proper food production amounts to serve each guest
  • Modify menus and recipes and prepare foods to meet all special dietary requirements
  • Maintain established sanitation and storage standards safety and food preparation standards set by the local and state health departments and maintain an orderly sanitary and safe kitchen
  • Maintain budget cost control and inventory systems based on procedures including food production records service and attendance
  • Assure the proper care and maintenance of all food service equipment and identify equipment needs for food preparation and service
  • Assist with properly receiving and storing food and supply orders according to food safety standards
  • Deliver food-related items to other locations as needed
  • Attend and complete required job-related training classes meetings and workshops
  • Maintain food preparation certifications
  • Perform other duties as assigned
