This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring that the food preparation and cooking processes meet the highest standards of quality, presentation, and safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing specialty dishes, maintaining portion control, and adhering to strict temperature regulations for ovens, grills, and roasters. Job Duties
- prepare specialty meals or replace products
- regulate oven, grill, and roaster temperatures
- remove food from freezers for thawing in refrigerators
- ensure proper portions, distribution, and food dressing
- maintain food records
- control the quality and quantity of prepared food
- communicate assistance needs during busy periods
- inform the head chef of excess food products to use in daily specials
- notify food and beverage service staff about rejected products and available special dishes
- ensure food product quality
- prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
- prepare cold dishes
- assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and training employees
- serve as a role model
- comply with all company safety policies and procedures
- report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager
- conduct safety training and obtain certifications
- maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
