Job Duties
- prepare specialty meals or replace products
- regulate oven, grill, and roaster temperatures
- remove food from freezers for thawing in refrigerators
- ensure proper portions, distribution, and food dressing
- maintain food records
- control the quality and quantity of prepared food
- communicate assistance needs during busy periods
- inform the head chef of excess food products to use in daily specials
- notify food and beverage service staff about rejected products and available special dishes
- ensure food product quality
- prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
- prepare cold dishes
- assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and training employees
- serve as a role model
- comply with all company safety policies and procedures
- report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager
- conduct safety training and obtain certifications
- maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
- protect confidential company information and assets
- anticipate and attend to guest service needs
- communicate clearly and professionally with others
- foster and maintain positive working relationships
- support the team to achieve common goals
- listen and respond appropriately to employee concerns
- ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards
- stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods
- stretch above the head and below the knees, including crouching, twisting, and bending
- move, lift, carry, push, drag, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
