Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience cooking in a commercial kitchen preferred
  • Ability to regulate cooking equipment temperatures
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Capability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds
  • Effective communication skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a cook or food preparation role preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic math skills for portion control and inventory
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare special meals or substitute items
  • Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
  • Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
  • Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish
  • Maintain food logs
  • Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared
  • Communicate assistance needed during busy periods
  • Inform chef of excess food items for use in daily specials
  • Inform food and beverage service staff of 86'ed items and available menu specials
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards
  • Prepare cold foods
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees
  • Serve as a role model
