The Lead role at ABM offers an excellent opportunity for individuals entering or returning to the workforce, even those with limited experience and education. This role focuses on ensuring that all facility operations strictly follow ABM's policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment for workers and customers. The Lead coordinates daily operations, delegates assignments, and provides guidance to team members, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality service at an assigned location. The Lead steps in to supervise the site whenever the Manager is not present, fostering a culture of accountability and open communication between the field team and management.

Key responsibilities in this position include overseeing and performing cleaning operations, handling specialized equipment and cleaning chemicals, managing keys and access cards for the property, monitoring supplies and equipment, documenting client communications, and delivering on additional service requests as needed. The role also includes assisting with work scheduling, providing training to new hires, and ensuring all work complies with safety and quality standards. The Lead plays a vital part in maintaining the overall integrity and operational excellence of the assigned facility.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma, GED, or college degree not required
  • Ability to follow assigned work schedules and route cards
  • Ability to provide leadership and communicate effectively
  • Capability to operate specialized cleaning equipment and handle cleaning chemicals
  • Willingness to perform janitorial duties and oversee service operations
  • Ability to document and report on work progress and client communications

Job Qualifications

  • One year of similar work experience preferred
  • One year of customer service experience preferred
  • One year of lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid Driver's license preferred

Job Duties

  • Follow assigned work schedules and route cards as directed
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members
  • Communicate openly between field employees and management and document client communications
  • Assist with making daily and weekly work schedules
  • Oversee and perform cleaning operations in assigned building
  • Take care of keys and access cards for the property
  • Report damaged, broken, and out-of-work features/items
  • Oversee and perform additional service requests in assigned building
  • Oversee quality of jobs and confirm completion with Area Manager
  • Provide training for all new hires assigned to the building
  • Complete and validate any time records for regular or subcontractor employees
  • Check supplies, equipment, and chemicals weekly
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
