Job Description

Our restaurant is a vibrant and dynamic establishment committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences through high-quality food preparation and outstanding customer service. Known for our dedication to culinary excellence and a welcoming atmosphere, we pride ourselves on being a preferred dining destination in the community. Our team is united by a shared passion for food, hospitality, and continuous improvement, ensuring that every guest leaves satisfied and eager to return. We operate with strong standards for quality, sanitation, and employee training, fostering a professional environment where both staff and customers thrive.

The role of Kitchen Supervisor is integral to maintaining the high standards that define our restaurant. This position is directly responsible for overseeing all kitchen functions, including food purchasing, preparation, and ensuring that quality standards are met at all times. The Kitchen Supervisor also plays a pivotal role in maintaining sanitation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen, adhering strictly to health and safety regulations. This position requires hands-on management of the kitchen team, including training employees in cooking methods, plate presentation, portion control, cost management, and hygiene practices. As a leader, the Kitchen Supervisor ensures that all operations run smoothly, from accurate portioning and adherence to recipes to efficient inventory management and equipment maintenance.

In this role, you will assume full responsibility for the quality of all products served in our restaurant, guaranteeing that every dish meets our established standards for taste, appearance, and consistency. You will coordinate with kitchen staff to stock and maintain adequate levels of ingredients at line stations, ensuring seamless service during busy periods. Proper plate presentation and food handling procedures like First-In-First-Out (FIFO) will be under your supervision to maintain freshness and safety.

Moreover, the Kitchen Supervisor will assist in food preparation during off-peak hours, help with closing procedures, and participate actively in staff meetings to discuss improvements and operational enhancements. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will liaise with managers, kitchen personnel, and dining room staff to uphold our guest service standards.

The position also involves administrative responsibilities such as preparing paperwork, managing schedules, and monitoring equipment maintenance in line with the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs. You will lead efforts to control food costs by overseeing requisitions, standardizing recipes, and implementing waste control measures. Additionally, you will ensure that all deliveries meet product specifications and are properly received and stored.

Safety is a top priority in our kitchen, and the Kitchen Supervisor will provide essential safety training, including first aid, CPR, safe lifting techniques, and hazardous materials handling. Regular monitoring of food holding temperatures and maintaining cleaning schedules for all kitchen areas are also key duties.

To be successful in this role, candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking, with at least 6 months working in an OPH-DFW kitchen environment. Physical stamina is necessary, as the role requires standing for long periods, frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds, reaching, bending, and stooping.

This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a respected restaurant that values quality, teamwork, and employee development. If you are passionate about kitchen operations and eager to contribute toward an exceptional dining experience, we encourage you to apply and become a valued member of our team.
