The Lead Cashier role at Ulta Beauty is essential to the smooth operation of the retail environment, focusing on delivering exceptional guest transactions and maintaining high standards at the cashwrap area. This part-time or full-time position typically pays between $14.00 and $19.00 per hour, with eligibility for overtime and various benefits depending on employment status. The Lead Cashier acts as a mentor and trainer for new cashiers while assisting in cross-training other associates. The position requires a collaborative mindset with an emphasis on loyalty program performance, nurturing positive guest experiences, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The role also entails operational tasks such as opening and closing register functions, merchandise replenishment around the cashwrap, and driving sales goals through guest engagement. Job Qualifications

high school diploma preferred
2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve
demonstrated passion and knowledge for guest service and selling
experience addressing guest concerns professionally
success in exceeding sales goals and training new hires
proficiency with basic technology including point of sale systems and Apple devices
excellent written and verbal communication skills
strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
ability to work independently and as part of a team
ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
ability to react under pressure and adapt to changing situations

Job Duties

contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s sales and service goals including omni-channel and guest loyalty
ensure each guest receives exceptional service through personalized engagement and product recommendations
courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges
pair guests with associates for makeup, skincare analysis and product demonstrations
book appointments and support in-store events to drive sales and guest satisfaction
maintain the cleanliness, organization, and guest-readiness of all cashwrap displays and impulse fixtures
assist in training new cashiers and cross-training associates in cashiering
support leadership with cashier chat ins/outs and associate exit inspections
drive cashier accountability in delivering personalized brand experiences
participate in ongoing training to enhance professional development
comply with company policies, operating procedures, and dress code
complete transactional accuracy and register opening/closing duties
maintain store standards including cleanliness and loss prevention
collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business
execute operational tasks as directed
