The Lead Cashier role at Ulta Beauty is essential for ensuring a seamless, exceptional guest experience at the cashwrap area. This position requires experienced cashiers who are passionate about providing excellent customer service while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and visual standards of the cashwrap. A Lead Cashier not only handles transactions efficiently but also plays a leadership role by training new cashiers and cross-training other associates. This role is instrumental in driving company goals related to sales performance, guest engagement, loyalty program promotion, and overall process compliance. The Lead Cashier is expected to be a proactive collaborator who influences peers positively and ensures the store meets or exceeds retail sales, omni-channel goals, and shrink targets.

In this capacity, you will be responsible for greeting guests warmly, personalizing service to their unique beauty needs, courteously handling sales transactions including refunds and exchanges, and supporting makeup applications or product demonstrations by pairing guests with associates. Additionally, the Lead Cashier supports store operations by managing register open and close functions, ensuring cash and media controls are exact, and maintaining the aesthetic and organization of impulse buy areas. You will also help with cashier accountability, follow Ulta Beauty's systems and policies, and contribute directly to creating an inclusive store environment that encourages teamwork and continuous learning. The role demands flexibility with scheduling, including availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays, and is only open to candidates 18 years or older due to the responsibilities involved.

Ulta Beauty offers competitive pay ranging from $16.90 to $22.50 per hour based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors. Full-time associates are eligible for paid time off and comprehensive health benefits including dental, vision, life insurance, and disability. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty including credit, and retail shrink as set by Ulta Beauty for the store
  • ensure that each guest receives exceptional service by providing a guest-friendly environment including greeting and engaging each guest, personalizing service to their needs, and recommending Ulta Beauty products and/or services
  • courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges
  • ensure each guest receives exceptional service by pairing them with an associate to perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and guest service experience
  • book appointments for and support execution of services and in-store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while delivering on sales goals
  • take ownership of replenishment, organization, and maintenance of all cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures to ensure guest-readiness at all times
  • maintain prompt, regular attendance
