Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years high volume bar or food service experience
  • At least one year supervisory or lead bartender experience preferred
  • Must be able to stand and exert mobility for up to four hours
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures ranging from -10°F to +110°F
  • Basic computer and computational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Azul Hospitality standards
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Must follow company safety and security policies
  • Ability to verify customer age for alcohol service

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years high volume bar or food service experience
  • At least one year supervisory or lead bartender experience preferred
  • Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification
  • Excellent leadership capability
  • Strong customer relations skills
  • Detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS
  • Knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and flavor profiles
  • Knowledge of table and bar service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and self-driven

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality, freshly crafted cocktails at high volume with proper technique
  • Take beverage and food orders at the bar
  • Describe menu items and suggest products to customers
  • Assist in directing the craft spirit, wine, and beer programs
  • Create craft cocktail and menu with an emphasis on classical mixology
  • Work with food and beverage director in lowering beverage costs by maintaining accurate par levels, preventing spillage, and developing high margin programs
  • Ensure proper service standards are met with a commitment to guest satisfaction
  • Train bartending team on service standards, product knowledge, and technique
  • Ensure availability and correct use of materials like garnishes, foams, shrubs, juices, infusions, syrups, and bitters
  • Prepare house-made spirit infusions
  • Build vendor relationships and ensure bar is stocked with high-quality products
  • Train beverage staff on alcohol beverage control protocols and enforce policies
  • Perform cash, credit card, and room transactions accurately when necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness standards of the bar throughout the shift
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Provide opening and closing inventory of spirits
  • Secure all liquor, beer, and wine products safely
  • Participate in deep cleaning of the outlet while overseeing staff safety
  • Assist guests and staff professionally with high service standards
  • Ensure taps, coolers, and appliances are clean and functional
  • Verify customer identification and enforce legal drinking age
  • Prevent service of alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated persons
  • Perform duties assigned by manager or supervisor
