This opportunity is with a reputed hospitality establishment operating as part of the Marriott brand, known globally for its commitment to exceptional guest service and superior quality standards. The company specializes in delivering a comprehensive hospitality experience through its hotels, restaurants, and bars, focusing on creating welcoming environments for guests. Marriott has set a benchmark in the hospitality industry by emphasizing customer service, maintaining high-quality food and beverage offerings, and ensuring a clean, safe, and enjoyable atmosphere in all its venues. The company actively supports ongoing training and certification for its staff to sustain the highest levels of service and professionalism.
The role being offered is that of a Lead Bartender, a critical position responsible for managing the bartending team and ensuring the timely preparation and service of beverages and food to guests. This role demands a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times, underpinning exceptional guest interactions and experiences. The Lead Bartender will be required to adhere strictly to health regulations and local liquor laws, ensuring the bar area remains a safe and hygienic venue for both staff and patrons. Maintaining a clean, organized work environment plays a significant role in this position.
In addition to the operational responsibilities, this role prioritizes creating an inviting bar atmosphere that encourages guest satisfaction and repeat visits. The Lead Bartender must consistently follow Marriott's brand standards and customer service management policies to uphold quality and service excellence. Duties include greeting guests warmly, accurately processing orders, responding to customer needs effectively, and collaborating closely with other team members and departments, such as banquet services and the kitchen team, especially during special events or high-volume periods.
The position demands strong knowledge and skill in beverage preparation, including cocktail creation as per Marriott’s recipes and procedures. Training and mentoring bartenders to maintain quality assurance in line with Marriott's WXYZ bar standards is a crucial aspect of this leadership role. Operational tasks such as cash handling, use of the micros point-of-sale system, cost control, inventory management including alcohol orders, and maintaining stock hygiene and organization are central to the role's success.
This position requires a minimum of one year of bartending experience, certification or the ability to obtain certifications such as TIPS or CARE beverage service, and demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, repetitive environment. Physical demands include lifting and moving heavy items such as kegs weighing up to 150 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and maintaining stamina throughout the shift. The role also requires effective communication skills in English to meet guest needs and complete all reporting and documentation accurately.
Overall, the Lead Bartender at Marriott will be a key player in delivering an outstanding guest experience, leading a talented bartending team, and ensuring operational excellence in beverage service. This employment position offers a dynamic work environment within a globally recognized hospitality leader and the opportunity to advance one’s career through training, skill development, and professional exposure within Marriott’s prestigious brand.
