Job Description
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is a renowned boutique hospitality company famous for its heartfelt, human-centered approach to hospitality. Founded by Bill Kimpton in 1981 in San Francisco, Kimpton revolutionized the hospitality industry by rejecting impersonal and generic service in favor of genuine connections and personalized experiences. This ethos remains a driving force in the company today, creating an environment where employees and guests can truly connect from the heart. With a culture that celebrates individuality, creativity, and self-leadership, Kimpton has fostered a vibrant and welcoming work environment that empowers employees to deliver exceptional service. The company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion reflects its dedication to representing the wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and talents of its staff and guests.
The role of lead bartender at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants embodies this spirit of genuine hospitality and exceptional service. As the lead bartender, you will play a crucial role in supervising bar operations, ensuring the highest standards of beverage preparation, and delivering memorable guest experiences. You will be the heart of the bar, advocating for both the bar and restaurant while forging strong relationships with guests that invite their return. This position requires a balance of leadership, creativity, and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include managing and delegating tasks to the bar team, assisting with off-property events, training new staff, creating custom drink menus, and maintaining inventory control. Your expert knowledge of wine, spirits, and cocktails, combined with excellent communication skills, will contribute to crafting personalized experiences that resonate with guests.
In addition to bartending duties, you will ensure the cleanliness and functionality of the bar area, manage point of sale transactions accurately, and collaborate effectively with other team members and management. The role demands flexibility in scheduling, as hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Certifications in Food Handling and Alcohol Awareness are preferred. At Kimpton, the work you do is meaningful—you will have the opportunity to improve the lives of guests, coworkers, and the wider community through your dedication and passion. Being a part of Kimpton means embracing a work culture that is quirky, irreverent, and empowering, where your unique personality and talents are celebrated, and where your contributions make a real difference. Join Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants as the lead bartender to not only advance your career but also become part of a community that values heartfelt connections and exceptional hospitality.
