Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous barista experience
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment including standing for long periods, bending, lifting, and operating coffee machines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and shift gears quickly
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to train and coach team members
  • Commitment to putting customer experience first

Job Duties

  • Model the cafe customer experience by ensuring consistent, friendly, personal service and thoughtful recommendations, train baristas on delivering first-class service
  • Ensure a vibrant cafe environment with stocked bake case and neat merchandise displays, greet all customers with a smile
  • Understand customers and provide recommendations to improve cafe operations
  • Support positive sales results through efficient ordering and knowledge of profit and loss management
  • Coach and provide feedback to baristas in partnership with the cafe manager to foster growth
  • Solve problems efficiently and support team members by removing obstacles
  • Engage customers through sampling, register promotions, and the Cafe Mobile App
  • Assist with completing and complying with visual merchandising standards
  • Ensure execution of all operational, safety, and health standards timely and according to cafe policies
  • Protect company assets by executing loss prevention procedures accurately
  • Communicate collaboratively with the store team, uphold company values through fair feedback and respectful accountability
  • Perform physical activities required in cafe operations including prolonged standing, bending, lifting, climbing, and operating espresso machines
