Employees at City of Hope are valued for their passion, expertise, and commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of their patients and the broader community.

The Lead Barista role at City of Hope is a vital position within the retail food service operations. As a Lead Barista, you will be the face of the coffee and beverage service, providing exceptional customer service with a friendly and professional demeanor. You will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of high-quality hand-crafted beverages, including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, and fruit blends, all tailored to customer specifications. The role also encompasses handling cash and credit transactions, maintaining an inviting and clean service environment, and managing opening and closing procedures to ensure smooth operations of the beverage service area.

This leadership position requires someone who can manage day-to-day tasks effectively while fostering a positive customer experience and ensuring efficiency in beverage preparation and service. The Lead Barista acts as a point of contact for customers’ questions and concerns, addressing issues promptly to maintain strong customer relations. Beyond beverage preparation, the responsibilities include inventory management, maintaining product displays, adhering to strict hygiene standards by cleaning coffee machines and service areas regularly, and following all food safety and allergy protocols through ongoing training and compliance.

This role offers invaluable experience within a respected healthcare institution and provides opportunities for professional growth and certification, including Starbucks Lead Barista Certification within the first 90 days of employment. City of Hope values its employees and offers competitive pay based on experience and qualifications alongside a comprehensive benefits package.
