Job Requirements

  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • must be able to stand and walk for 6 to 8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • must be able to perform hand use including single grasping fine manipulation pushing and pulling
  • must be able to bend twist squat and reach
  • must be able to work in wet and dry conditions
  • must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
  • must be able to use bakery tools and equipment including knives box cutters electric pallet jacks and other heavy machinery
  • must be able to maintain cleanliness and follow safety regulations
  • must comply with food safety and health regulations

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 14 months retail experience
  • thorough product production and equipment knowledge especially scratch bread
  • ability to follow recipes and production schedules
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to deliver clear information respectfully
  • excellent customer service skills
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • basic math skills for recipe conversions
  • passion for natural foods and company mission
  • basic Microsoft Excel skills
  • ability to manage time and organize effectively
  • ability to identify and troubleshoot bread production issues and provide solutions

Job Duties

  • mixes divides shapes proofs and bakes bread and bakery products to approved specifications
  • maintains accurate mix times temperature logs and production records
  • develops adjusts and communicates daily production schedules with other bakers and team
  • ensures consistency of daily production in quantity and quality
  • routinely assesses production outcomes to maintain quality standards
  • prepares packages weighs and prices products for sale
  • monitors product quality freshness and proper product rotation
  • models and delivers outstanding customer service
  • mentors coaches and trains bakers on proper execution of bread and bakery programs
  • arrives to work station on time appropriately groomed dressed ready to work
  • works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
  • addresses customer needs timely and models suggestive selling techniques
  • maximizes sales through proper prepping storing rotating stocking and merchandising
  • follows and complies with established procedures including weights and measures health sanitation and safety practices
  • maintains clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and equipment in accordance with standards
  • performs opening mid and closing duties ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing
  • reports safety hazards and violations immediately
  • performs other duties as assigned by leadership
  • utilizes proper production tools and reporting to maximize sales and reduce shrink
  • supports training and onboarding bakers within home store and other locations
