Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60 pounds frequently
- Availability for early morning shifts including 2am, 3am, or 4am start times
- Experience working near moving machinery and exposure to varying temperatures
- Capability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous baking experience required
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a baker or in a similar bakery, restaurant, culinary, or food service role
- Strong math skills for calculating baking proportions and percentages
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of safety requirements and ability to recognize hazards
- Understanding of retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising
- Customer-focused with ability to handle guest interactions tactfully
Job Duties
- Lead by example by reinforcing company culture, guest service, and performance expectations to bakery staff
- Provide ongoing training and development to bakery associates in baking and food service
- Collaborate with the bakery manager to ensure proper staffing and prepare weekly work schedules
- Maintain high product quality and service standards with a focus on bakery and pastry excellence
- Monitor sales floor and stock conditions, taking corrective action as necessary
- Assist guests with inquiries and special requests, demonstrating excellent customer service
- Package, price, and replenish bakery items and assist with mixing, frying, baking, and decorating products
- Ensure cleanliness and food safety standards are upheld in the bakery and sales floor
- Document policy violations and advise the bakery manager on corrective actions
- Maintain regular attendance and support shift scheduling
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team and department operations
