Job Description
DiBella's is a well-established restaurant brand famous for its fresh, crispy Italian bread, which lies at the heart of its business and identity. Founded on a passion for creating delicious bread, DiBella's has successfully cultivated a loyal customer base that associates the brand with home, comfort, and quality. The company prides itself on baking bread the "DiBella's way" every day, ensuring that it looks and tastes great for each guest who walks through its doors. This dedication to quality and authenticity has made DiBella's a standout name in the food service industry, especially for those who appreciate fresh bakery goods and exceptional customer experience. DiBella's operates as a restaurant and bakery hybrid, making the bread not just a menu item, but the foundation upon which the entire business is built.
The role available is for a Lead Baker, a critical position responsible for producing the high-quality bread that defines the DiBella's brand. This position is full-time, offering a competitive weekly pay along with weekly tips, a five-day Monday through Friday work week, and opportunities for career advancement. Additional benefits include paid vacation and health benefits for full-time employees, free shift meals, off-duty meal discounts, and the positive perk of having no fryer-related tasks. The Lead Baker’s duties begin early in the morning and require punctuality, dependable transportation, and a can-do attitude. The person in this role must not only excel at baking high-standard bread following the prescribed procedures found in the DiBella’s Bread Manual but also deliver excellent customer service. When not baking, the Lead Baker helps prepare and serve a variety of food products, maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery, and fulfill various shift duties ensuring smooth operational flow.
The Lead Baker is tasked with following bakery safety protocols and utilizing all safety equipment to ensure a safe environment for both crew members and guests. Attention to detail is paramount, as the baker must bake the correct quantities according to the store’s daily par list, maintain equipment, and keep food and customer areas sanitary and orderly in compliance with Health Department regulations. The role also entails display and preparation of deli products such as cheeses, meats, breads, condiments, sauces, napkins, and wrap paper to ensure the store's deli counter is always well-stocked and inviting. Beyond baking, this position demands good physical endurance—it involves frequent standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Effective communication with customers and coworkers, multitasking, prioritization of duties, and maintaining a friendly yet efficient demeanor are essential qualities for success in this role.
DiBella’s fosters a team-centered environment focused on delivering the best dining experience for guests. They encourage a workplace that values dedication, attention to detail, and continuous improvement, offering employees the chance to grow their product knowledge and advance within the company. If you are passionate about baking, customer service, and working in a positive, supportive atmosphere, DiBella’s Lead Baker role represents an exciting and rewarding career opportunity where your skills will directly contribute to the brand’s ongoing legacy.
