Job Requirements

  • must be 18 years or older for general positions

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • degree or certificate from a major culinary institute
  • minimum 2 years' experience as a baker in a major hotel or food chain
  • working knowledge of American and European pastries and bread programs
  • strong organization skills
  • effective communication and collaboration skills
  • positive role model for co-workers

Job Duties

  • produce bakery items from established recipes consistently according to menu standards
  • report to work on time and in proper uniform
  • perform advanced production and service skills including opening and closing bakery duties and following the daily baking schedule
  • assist and support other bakers with daily assignments
  • accept direction willingly and adapt quickly to new tasks
  • control kitchen operations including portioning, wastage, production, and plate presentation
  • create and execute recipe development and menu specials
  • take inventories, place and receive orders
  • practice safe food handling and sanitation
  • assist team members as needed
  • receive, check, sign, and store purchased ingredients properly
  • wash and clean bakery equipment and tools
  • maintain cleanliness of oven, proofer, and working bread table
  • comply with departmental and company policies
  • report equipment malfunctions
  • maintain a neat and orderly workstation
  • arrive with proper tools, clean uniform, and recommended footwear
