The role of Laundry Technician at Prism Specialties involves critical responsibilities that contribute to the company’s high standards of restoration and customer service. As a Laundry Technician, you will play an essential role in processing soft goods by sorting, washing, drying, and folding laundry items. Beyond the laundry room, you will respond to service calls for both commercial and residential customers who have experienced damages from water, fire, or mold. This on-call position requires flexibility and the ability to respond immediately when necessary, reflecting the dynamic nature of the restoration business.

In your daily duties, you will be expected to demonstrate an aptitude for learning company systems and processes, along with knowledge of fabrics, tools, equipment, and safety practices to ensure proper restoration of soft goods. You will be responsible for determining the cleanability of items, interpreting cleaning labels, and following manufacturer instructions for operating and maintaining equipment. Additionally, this role involves engaging with insurance adjusters and customers by performing on-site walkthroughs, documenting damages through photographs, and completing electronic claim paperwork via iPad, emphasizing both technical and communication skills.

The position also involves logistical responsibilities, including the pick-up and delivery of customers' textiles and soft goods, maintaining company vehicles and equipment, and supporting other business functions as the brand grows. Travel, including overnight stays, and overtime work may be required depending on business needs. This role offers a varied workday balancing hands-on restoration tasks with service calls, customer communications, and operational support, providing a comprehensive experience within the restoration industry.
