The Laundry Worker role at Aramark involves operating laundry equipment essential for the finishing of flatwork and tumble-dried goods. This position is vital in ensuring that linens meet strict quality standards and customer satisfaction. The Laundry Worker is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the assigned work areas, folding linens, and preparing cleaned linens for operational use. This role also requires effective collaboration with team members to maintain workflow efficiency and uphold workplace safety standards.
In this role, the Laundry Worker receives and sorts soiled linen into designated categories, operates specialized machinery such as automatic cart washers, flatwork ironers, and small piece folders following predetermined standards. They ensure quality control by inspecting linens to meet the expectations of various customers and communicating any issues to leads or supervisors. Accurate labeling, handling, and storage of linens are crucial responsibilities to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination during transport and storage.
The Laundry Worker also assists in loading linens and materials onto trucks and tracks inventory levels to inform supervisors of supply needs. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safe operation within the work area is a key part of this role, which may include physical demands like lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is often required to minimize exposure to potential hazards such as infectious diseases, burns, electrical and mechanical equipment, and sharp objects.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a high production laundry preferred
- Ability to work as a team member
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Physical capability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods

Job Duties
- Receives and sorts soiled linen into designated classifications
- Operates automatic cart washer and removes linen carts from washer exit
- Operates flatwork ironer, small piece folders, and folds linen according to predetermined standards
- Responsible for quality control of linens
- Ensures linens meet customer quality expectations and communicates issues to lead or supervisor
- Identifies each linen distribution cart with proper labels and covers carts prior to transport
- Folds and stores linen to maintain cleanliness standards
- Assists truck driver with loading linen and materials on the truck
- Informs lead or supervisor about par level or quantity of supplies
- Maintains cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of work area
