The Presser position is an essential role within our Laundry Department, contributing directly to the exceptional guest experience by ensuring garments are finished to perfection. As a Presser, you will be responsible for operating various pressing machines such as utility pressers, pants toppers, legger pressers, hot head pressers, and steam finishers. These machines are used to smooth and shape clothing, linens, draperies, and uniforms, maintaining their pristine condition. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of pressing techniques to meet and exceed our guests' expectations of quality and cleanliness.

In addition to handling equipment, the Presser maintains the pressing area in a clean and organized state, promoting a safe and efficient work environment. Regular maintenance tasks include checking equipment for defects, keeping machinery lubricated, and ensuring all pressing tools are in optimal condition. The role also involves identifying garments requiring spotting for stains and assisting with folding clothes in laundry baskets when necessary. You will serve as an integral member of the laundry team, collaborating closely with other team members and the Laundry Manager to deliver seamless service.

The position reports directly to the Laundry Manager and does not entail supervisory responsibilities. This role offers the opportunity to develop specialized pressing skills and gain valuable experience in garment care within a hospitality context. We seek candidates who are highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking, with strong communication skills and fluency in English. The job requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, stand or walk for up to 5 to 8 hours during a shift, and maintain stationary positions for extended periods.

Working conditions include an indoor environment with variable temperatures due to pressing equipment operation and exposure to varying noise levels, as well as chemicals, fumes, and dust. Despite these challenges, the Presser role is rewarding and vital to ensuring that the guest experience is consistently exceptional.
